My Last Evening With Brad

Image
It all started out so innocently. Brad woke up and decided he was over due to dye his hair. He had been sporting his blue do for quite some time and it was time for a change. So he decided to dye it a bright orange, and it looked quite good. The maid the next morning said so in passing. The day passed uneventfully. The night however was full of event! Sometime around 2 am a would be theif decided to try and steal Brad's car. The car is a piece of shit, so I don't know why the theif would try it. I also don't know why Brad would have gotten an alarm for his car, but it's a good thing he did. When the theif tried to open the door, the alarm sounded. Nonpulsed, the thief sneakily snuck around the front of the house, just as a cop car pulled up. There was a tussle! But in the end, justice prevailed! Brad got $500 for helping to catch a dangerous criminal, in his sleep! The next day passed, and the following evening, I was invited over for dinner, and Brad was very friendl...

Ya know what?

Even though I have like 2-3 piddly little side quests still to finish in Chibi-Robo, I'm done. I beat the main story, got a lot of enjoyment out of the game, and I have finished it. Will I play it again? Yes. Soon... probably not, but every game counts. Also, I am on the verge of beating Zelda: The Minish Cap. I am tempted to just go and beat it and not worry about the 44 PIECES OF HEART! Holy fuck cheese batman, but that's a lot of heart pieces. Link to the Past only had 24, and me and me mum were very proud when we found them all! Oh, I really should keep up to date on my D&D stuff. If i only post once a week on that, i'll never catch up... arg!

D&D Today: Part 2

The Journal of Gars Sithersay: Golden Guardinel of Garland's Guardians Day 5 I met up with the adventuers I had been tasked to find a few hours ago and am currently keeping the last watch. I left the day after I received my orders and traveled along their more likely route towards Gnoll lands. Although my skills as a tracker are not as good as some, the trail of bodies they left in their wake simplified things greatly. I hope that I will be able to prevent more of this from happening for even though they may be of evil intent, no living thing should be prevented from walking in the light. As dusk fell on this day I felt the need to push on into the night. I had been traveling for 2 days already and wanted to end this part of my journey. I soon heard the sound of a battle in the distance. I urged Stalos forward and was soon able to see in the dim moonlight what surely must be the ones I was looking for, onset by a gnollish squad. My ideas of preventing further bloodshed were dashed ...

I'm Back!

No, I didn't forget about this. My computer wasn't working for like 4 days and that put a real damper on my my computer use... duh! I got it up and running again like on Tuesday, and it's been a slow process reinstalling everything and getting everything back the way it was *sigh*. I have a big.. ish update that I've been working on and will post it right after this, so stay tuned!

D&D Today: Part 1

Gonna try and record the accounts of my weekly D&D sessions, from the view of my character. The Journal of Gars Sithersay , Golden Guardinal of Garland's Guardians Day 1 I keep this journal in the hopes that it's words will one day help another. It has been 5 long years since I first joined the ranks of the Guardians. At first I had looked for my place in the world, possibly a way to restore if not my family's power and land, then our honour and self-respect. Even after all this time it is difficult to recall the events that led to our downfall, and I suspect it will be many years more before those words touches these pages. No, I will find no solace , but I have found something more than what I first sought. The deeds and actions of those with the order are not just of those who would rid the world of evil, but of those who wish to do good in this world, uphold justice and bring all who take breath into the light. I would never have imagined that such valour and coura...

Close, but no cigar...

If you ever pay attention to the lists on the right, you'll notice that Twilight Princess is bolded but the Wii is not. That means I have managed to get a hold of Zelda, but have not yet managed to grab a Wii. It's such a tease to have quite possibly the best game ever made in my freshly washed hands, but not be able to play it. I did some hunting around the city yesterday, but to no avail. I will make a few more stops today with Deep, my partner in crime, however I will not keep my hopes up. I will update when I get back with the results, for good or for bad. *crosses fingers*

Don't read reviews

I've discovered I no longer care what other people think of a game. No matter how good a game is, there will always be those who get off on hating what is popular, or don't like anything that is like their favourite game. Take Final Fantasy XII. Even though I'm only 11 hours in, I find it to be wonderfully done. Everything from the voice acting to the license system makes for a quality experience. Even though that is my opinion of the game, it must speak somewhat for the actual quality of the game itself. Then there are those who think it's bad because it differs so much from the other Final Fantasy's in the past, or because it's too this, that or the other. Yes, they are more than welcome to their opinion of the game, and if they honest think it's that way, they don't have to play it. Now the people who hate it because it IS such a high quality game write negative reviews because they enjoy watching the reactions from people who poo poo their "opin...

The big 4

Well, I've finally had a chance to play the 4 games I have purchased recently: Final Fantasy XII GTA: Vice City Stories Contact Ace Combat X *puts down PSP* Where to start. Well, might as well give a run down of what I'm currently playing. Vice City Stories is leaps and bounds ahead of it's portable predecessor. It's also much better than it's original incarnation on the PS2. You play as Vic Vance: a basically good guy who's forced to do questionable things to support his illness ridden family. Along the way he makes some powerful allies, even more powerful enemies, and I'm guessing manages to take over Vice City while he's at it. What's next... well, I did sort of go over Ace Combat X already, there isn't really as much story in the game as there is in the previous ones. It's there, but the game is much shorter. I completed the game once, and have started through again, this time along a different mission path so I've been able to unlock...

They just keep pouring in!

Still playing with the idea of making a Sims 2 only blog, that depcits the adventures of my virtual self and all the people that live there. Might be interesting to see how close to their real life counterparts that they behave. I have managed to pick up a couple new games: Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception and Contact , for the PSP and DS respectively. Can't say much about Ace Combat. It's the same as all the other Ace Combat games that I love, that perfect combination of flight sim and arcade shooter. The controls take a little while to get used to, and the missions are a little harder from what I find, although that may just be my lack of practice and the fact I'm still using the low end planes. Contact. Now there is a great game. I'm not very far into it yet, but it combines a lot of existing RPG elements with a lot of new ones. I'd like to get into detail on it right now, but I want to go play some more ACX so I'll just leave you with this .

MEOW!!!

Yay! The Sims 2: Pets is here, and they are so cute! I made our cat Cinnamon, and I think it's a pretty good facsimile. The pic to the left is me holding her. I will be updating the rest of the blog over the next few days. Have games coming in on almost a daily basis for the rest of the week. Hope you are excited as I am! :)

Music of my Groin

So I was over at my parents place the other day and I started paying Wind Waker, which I had lent to my mom to play. She hadn't gotten around to playing it yet, she was too busy playing Mario Sunshine. I realized I hadn't ever finished this game, and I've heard so many good things about it, so I started playing in earnest, and have continued to play throughout the week. I am about... i'd say 20% done with the main quest. This of course doesn't include any of the side things you can get, wand that's a lot of what Zelda is. Anywho, I shall keep y'all apprised of my progress. Oh yeah.

One step forward, one step back

Well, I just finished Serious Sam 2 today. Not really much to say about it. It's a FPS, and I'm not a huge fan of those as is. It goes in the completed pile all the same. I also am about to download Defcon by Introversion Software . I will have an update in the next few days about it.

Let's see.....

Well, recently there's been World of Warcraft again. I'd tell you who I am and what server I'm playing on, but you don't really care and neither do I. Ummmm, I had a chance this weekend to really spend some time in Egypt . Got a few things done that I've been meaning to do for a while, yet I still have a long way to go on my list of things to do there. I know I picked up a game.... crap, can't remember now. I had gotten Serious Sam 2 with my video card so I played through that... last weekend? Maybe it was the weekend before. Got most of the way through it, haven't gone back since. Maybe I should, just to finish it up. Oh, I picked up the Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff. It adds fancy doo dads and whatzits to the Sims and I feel awesome in my fancy clothes... I think. I'm a sucker for the Sims, so :P Pre ordered Vice City Stories, so I'll be able to pick that up when it comes out on the 31st. I haven't been completely up to date on all the news revol...

Not forgotten.

I haven't forgotten about this side of things, I just have been playing online games more recently which don't have a definite ending in most cases. I have also started up another blog, which can be found here . Please check it out if you are interested in knowing what I am watching as well.

And another one bites the dust!

I have just finished Ace Combat 04 and finally unlocked all of the alternate paint schemes. Another notch in the completed column, and the fight continues.

Must.... fight... the temptation....

I think I'm going to reach some sort of event horizon soon. A point where the rate that I buy games at will exceed my ability to ever play them in a human life time. It's very close, I can tell. I also realize now that a lot of the older games I have will never be played by me again, no matter how much I want to. Now, I might have been tempted to start selling them off, to pay for newer games, however, I lost all the boxes and instructions that I had been painstaking saving for ever, during a flood at my parents place over a year ago. :( So, I'm basically stuck with all these games and no time. The old ones, I do plan to give one final play through for old times sake before retiring them permanently. I may still break them out for a craving sometime down the road, but I won't feel obligated to play them anymore. The new ones, will basically just have to wait until I have time. Speaking of new games, yes, I have more of them! Let's see, should I make a list... yes, y...

Slowly but surely.

Well, I finished Darwinia today. Excellent game by Introversion Software. I would recommend you try it out, you can't go wrong. It isn't all that expensive either. I paid, what, $30.00 for it? For a game that's not too bad. It should run on almost any system available these days, and it's definitely worth the price. I've looked into it, and apparently there are dozens of mods available for the game that add additional levels and so forth. So even though I have completed the main game, there's still more for me to do.

Ha! It wasn't a month this time!

Image
Another period of time later and here I am again. Let's see. Dirge of Cerebus just came out so I'll be picking that up in the upcoming months. Also picked up a couple of sweet games: Civilization IV: Warlords Darwinia Now, I know Warlords is only an expansion, but it adds lots of cool features to the game, such as having Great Generals which can give experience to your armies, a Great Wall that actually appears on the map, even being able to play as the barbarians. Who doesn't want to loot and plunder... You'll pay for this Captain Planet! Darwinia though, that is an amazing game! You are an observer in a virtual theme park which is populated by these little guys called Darwins. A virus invades the system and it's up to you to help them take back their territory but protect them from harm while you do. You can't directly control the Darwinians, but you can nudge them in the right direction. I'll be playing through for a third time soon, not just because I li...

Business as normal

Well, I neglected to post for my entire vacation, but that doesn't mean I neglected to play anything. :) I picked up a DS Lite the other day, trading in my old DS Phat. The touch screen seems a tad on the blurry side, so I will be exchanging it to see if it's an issue with just the one DSL or common to them all. Also picked up another slew of games: StarFox Assault Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) Conker: Live & Reloaded Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Empire Earth II The Legend of Heroes II Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth So far I've only played Empire Earth II and I really enjoy the many alternate histories that they present, such as the Aztecs fending off the Spanish and growing to be a super power of it's own, allied with the U.S. I'm currently in the Korean campaign and have so far united the peninsula, and pushed all other influences out. I will have to see where this goes. I am now officially married! :) Life continues as normal for m...

My name is Armando.. Alejandro... Estrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrada!

I am on vacation officially as of tomorrow, technically it's my weekend right now! With time off comes more time to play games, and with more time to play games comes more updates of blog! Right now I'm really into A Tale in the Desert . If you want a leisurely paced game that isn't all about fighting, killing or jumping, and is more about social interaction, then you might want to check this one out! Picked up a handful of games yesterday as well: Genma Onimusha for Xbox, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for GameCube, and for the DS, Big Brain Academy, Break 'Em All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I've been looking for Phoenix Wright for the longest time, I'm glad they printed some more copies of it, and it's as much fun as I had hoped! Break 'Em All is the classic Break Out/Arkanoid game we have all come to love, and with over 3 million randomly generated puzzles, and invincible Jesus evolution, you can bet this will keep you busy! I am confident tha...

Haitus... wait no!

It has been just over a month since I last posted. Things have been busy, money is hard to find, so I have little new game information to pass on. I got Lemmings for the PSP. They have all the original levels from the old SNES version, which is great cause I always wanted to get that, but was never able to find it. There are new levels, as well as player created levels you can download. Couple this with a snazzy 3D, colourful interface and you have a hit... well to me anyway :P. I've also finished the New Super Mario Bros, and am slowing working my way towards getting all the Star Coins, which will unlock Expert mode I believe. Gonna start playing more of them multiplayer at work, see who I can't make cry! What else have I been doing, ah yes! I've gotten back into A Tale in the Desert. Have some big plans for that again, of the obelisk persuation of course! :) For details... well, you'll just have to wait and see!

Swing your arms from side to side!

Image
It's here, it's here! The New Super Mario Bros . is upon us and with it much old school awesomeness! Do you like jumping? It's here! Do you like shooting balls of fire from your hand? It's got that too! Do you like climbing inside a turtle shell and bouncing all over the room? Oh, you don't. Well that's in here as well! If you haven't already tried it, please do! Please? I'll do the Mario if you do! Take one step, and then again, let's do the Mario, all together now!

The end is nigh!

Image
That's right! The end will be here soon, the end of all my free time! What with the Wii and PS3 being release this fall, Final Fantasy XII this August, a new Chibi Robo game on the horizon, and so on and so forth, there won't be time for anything else! But wait? "Where does all this magnificent information come from?" you ask? Well, tis the week of E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, where all the big announcements are made in the world of gaming. From Super Mario Galaxy , to the two versions of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess , to Grand Theft Auto IV, they are all coming! The Coming Soon list just got a whole lot bigger!

This month in gaming...

Image
Wow, end of April already! This makes a little over 2 months until I tie the knot, eep! Not eep for the boy scout hobby, just eep 'cause 2 months! I need to get stuff done, but I digress! Recently aquired the wondeful Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War for my aging PS2. While I wasn't filled with the same sense of awe and wonder as I was with the first two Ace Combat games on this console, it is quite fun all the same, especially when I got my X-02! You play the roll of an unkown mercenary pilot, call sign: Cipher, who's undefeated streak climbs higher and higher throught the war, filling all enemy pilots with fear and hatred. The good part, is you have three ways you can play the game: as a mercenary, a solider, or a knight. The difference is as follows. There are three types of targets on every mission, the red essential targets that will almost always result in a Mission Accomplished once destroyed, the optional green targets that you don't necessarily have to destroy, ...

It's an addicition I tells ya!

So, once again money is deducted from my bank account as two new members join my gaming collection: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow , and Trauma Center: Under the Kinfe . I have yet to try Castlevania, however those fair are always good. Trauma Center is very engrossing, I've saved many a life, and am on my way to wooing my fair nurse! Black and White 2 is like three games in one. Think Command & Conquer meets Sim City meets Tamagochi. Your roll: Ancient god resureteced by the power of prayer. Your goal: Save the Greek people from extinction by either impressing or destroying all the other civilization from the world. How you go about this determines if you are a good god or an evil god! It is a lot harder to be evil then you would think. I take that back. It's easy to be evil, but since you need the support of the people to keep you going, it's hard to be evil, and productive. More to come!

This week in gaming!

Image
Well, here we are a week later. Have more to add to my gaming "To Do" pile. Chibi-Robo for the GameCube, Black & White 2 for PC, Oblivion for PC, and the Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff for PC. Chibi-Robo is simply awesome! You are a little robot, and your job is to clean the house. That's pretty much it from what I've played so far. Cleaning said house earns you happiness points, the more happiness points you get from the family you are cleaning for, the higher your rank goes! I guess your ultimate goal is to be the #1 Chibi-Robo in all the world! Definitely worth checking out. The other 3 games I will get to at a later date, but for now, back to Egypt!

What to do, what to do?

Let's see. I got me some new games this last week: Age of Empires III and Comand & Conquer: The First Decade . Age of Empires is what you have come to expect from the AoE series, build lots of little settlers to rape the land around you, and build lots of units to crush your foes, although, it's prettier than the last incarnation, and the story is pretty good too, if you like knights and stuff. C&C: TFD is where it's at though. I had previously played all the other C&C games before, save the first one and the 1st person shooter, and only owned two of the others, so it was a good deal. This is what I've been needing for the longest time! I've been craving some good old fashioned RTS action for the last months and this fits the bill quite nicely. The only thing that could do better, would be some sort of Star Trek: Armada III, if such a glorious thing exsisted. Alas, this is the best we have in that area.

Feelin' old...

So the other day, I was out and about with the family, and I mentioned that I had recently gotten Tetris for the DS, and how good it was. My youngest, who is an excellent gamer in her own right, asked innocently "Who's Tetris?" Yeah, I know. To answer the question, go here .

Those Juicy Juicy Games!

Image
So I got a few new games recently: Me and My Katamari , Metroid Prime Hunters , and Tetris DS . All great fun, all portable, and all... made by Nitendo? Nah, that's not quite right. Behold the link, and it's awesomeness! Oh, and my blog doesn't have enough pictures, so:

Mods De Chocobo

Haven't posted in a while, mainly due to lack of sleep. That, and I've been playing an awful lot of Travian. Y'all should check it out. You create your own little village, and you get 4 resources: wood, clay, iron and crop. Spend the 4 anyway you see fit, like upgrading your ability to harvest said resources, building walls and troops to defend your city, or crannies to prevent the enemy from stealing what's yours! The game is java based, online, and free. You can get to it at www.travian.com . The first 3 servers are full, 4 is almost full and 5 will be opening soon. Oh, and for a directly link to the server http://s4.travian.com .

Final Fantasy my foot!

Started playing some Final Fantasy IV for the GBA this weekend. Started a new game, and left that darned Lunar Dungeon before it drove me nuts! I'd rather level up somewhere safe and controled like the Lunar Core :P Why would a game decrease your stats randomly after level 70? Why punish those who spend the time to get that far? Who knows! Ooooo, Flan Princess!

Quick Post

Just a quick few words before work. Two nights ago, it was so dead I was able to complete 3 entire worlds in Super Mario 64 DS. At this rate, I may actually complete a consolde game, which hasn't happen in a dogs age. That's years in human speak.

Testing! 1! 2! 3!

Image
Well, here is me testing out adding a picture. This isn't my cat, or my sink either. It could be my soap though...

The bloggiest blog...

So, this is a blog. I don't really have much to put in here yet, but I guess I will keep track of games I have beaten after this date. I better get started as I don't have anything here yet. Edit test...
