Must.... fight... the temptation....

I think I'm going to reach some sort of event horizon soon. A point where the rate that I buy games at will exceed my ability to ever play them in a human life time. It's very close, I can tell. I also realize now that a lot of the older games I have will never be played by me again, no matter how much I want to. Now, I might have been tempted to start selling them off, to pay for newer games, however, I lost all the boxes and instructions that I had been painstaking saving for ever, during a flood at my parents place over a year ago. :(

So, I'm basically stuck with all these games and no time. The old ones, I do plan to give one final play through for old times sake before retiring them permanently. I may still break them out for a craving sometime down the road, but I won't feel obligated to play them anymore. The new ones, will basically just have to wait until I have time.

Speaking of new games, yes, I have more of them! Let's see, should I make a list... yes, yes I should:
  • Stronghold: Crusader
  • Stronghold 2
  • City of Villains
  • Grandia III
  • Wild Arms 4
  • Dirge of Cerebus: FFVII
  • PS2 Slim

The last one isn't really a game, but I figured it warranted mentioning. My old PS2 was flaky at best. I'd insert a game and it would be a guessing game if it would play or not. Would I need to turn it on it's side? Should I put in that disk that cleans the lens? Wait, I can't turn it's on it's side, it's in an enclosed space! And don't even get me started on blue discs (not to be confused with Blue Ray).

So yes, the tiny PS2 works much better than it's older brother. Load times are much shorter, I attribute this to the fact the disc is held in place. It's christening game was Dirge of Cerebus. I enjoyed what I have played of it so far, even though I still need to get used to the controls. Situations where I use up my entire inventory of items when trying to switch between them should hopefully be a think of the past.

City of Villains, has the potential to be a favourite of mine, despite the constant grinding that is part of all MMOG's. I just need to fix my problem of disconnecting from the map server twice an hour and I'll be set. It's either my router or my ISP, I have yet to investigate.

I've taken up the reins of Ace Combat 04 once again. It will be added to my list of finished games within the week. I have completed it on Ace difficulty in the past, so I will consider a Normal run through as finished, along with the acquisition of all the paint schemes.

Let's see, what else... Ah yes. I've been playing Oblivion lately. It's nice having a computer that can play it full tilt. I've recently gotten a few mods, and it looks gorgeous. I hope to be able to get some work done in there soon.

I've noticed that quite a few games are/have come out at the end of August, beginning of September. As much as I would like to get Starfox: Command, it'll have to wait. I've earmarked one more game until the end of the year, everything else will have to wait unfortunately. Whether or not I'm able to stick to that is another story all together.

What are the old games that you have and are comtemplating getting rid of? Are they for older gaming systems, PC, etc? I might be able to (eventually) give some of them a good home! :)

Incidentally, how is Stronghold 2? Anywhere near as much fun as the first one, or have you gotten to try it yet?

I'm thinking most of my old NES games. I want to give them all a good run through one last time. I had kept all the boxes in case I ever did plan to sell them, but i don't see that happening.

You can borrow any of them whenver you want though, i'll get you a list :)

SH2, I like it, more than the first one, but that might be because it's more pretty. I'll bring it today (Sunday) if i remembers it.
